Knowledge.

Not being able to comprehend brings fear…that ignorance exposes you to danger…
Oh…But I know that the opposite is also possible…
I know that
knowledge
can brings terror.

Knowledge is something that can make you capable of dealing to many things. Therefore, it is vital to survive especially in the community we live now. However, I believe there is a limitation on the amount of knowledge one can absorb. When one swallows down too much, all the information inside will just spill out, just like water in a cup.
And it is also true that knowledge can discourage you from doing something. For example, if you didn’t know what they actually do when dentists say, “Take out your wisdom tooth” you may not be afraid that much. But when you know that that means, digging for your teeth that is inside your bone by cutting flesh and bone, you may feel the gross.
Can you see this situation about knowledge? That there is no clear answer but the color grey? Oh well, I will need to learn how to deal with those things.

Coffee Break.

Picture from: http://storage.kanshin.com/free/img_15/151404/751705292.jpg

Let’s just say that those tedious time is like a coffee break to be prepared for the climax of your life.

From Baccano!

I just love quotes that talks about the dull hours you sometimes have in your day. It helps so much to think about those moments in a positive way! Especially when it’s unique like this one. Moreover, this quote has a way of thinking that is so positive, so moving ahead. And I just love those.

There are Three Types of Secrets.

There are three types of secrets.
One, because you really don’t want others to know about,
Two, because you can’t say it, even if you want to,
Three, because you are waiting for someone to ask you about it.

The King of Nabari, volume 5

An analysis on something is really interesting. There are quite several reasons to it. One of them is because you get to see another point of view. That will be a new discovery. But analysis is not only a new discovery about facts. It represents the thoughts of the others. And it is always exciting to hear those things because it “nurtures” your mind. Well, I mean, since those opinions are based on the experience or life of a person and their education, by hearing them, you can obtain more information than you can by yourself. Well, I guess this is a common sense that we all know, but if you think about it, it’s quite impressive. It’s like discovering why we can’t stand on top of a cloud. Well, actually it’s more like discovering how a rainbow works.

Anyways, I really loved this line because it provided me with another point of view of such a common thing I see daily.

I Had Something In Mind.

I had something in mind. But it was so vague, I just didn’t want to put them into words. I just gathered them up, I thought something really important will just fall off.

The Sky-blue Hitchhiker

When I hear about one's thought, it always ends up with an explanation of how important it is to put them into words. I mean, how important it is to express yourself. Well, it doesn't necessary need to be words, but the most common way of expressing yourself is by talking. Moreover, being able to explain it to someone else means you have that idea clear in your mind. So, I was quite surprised when I first read this part. I always believed that putting your thoughts into words was something extremely important that I should always be able to do. But this quote. It just. It just made me think over something I have never doubted. I sometimes thought, “Why can’t I just say this feeling that is inside me the way I feel it?” and then I answered myself, “Oh, maybe it’s because I don’t have enough ability to express myself. Maybe because English or Spanish or even Japanese, hasn’t settled down inside me enough that I would be able to say what I really want to say.” But after reading that unique quote, I just felt that I was able to see another reflection in the water. The reflection that keeps on changing. The reflection that never shows the right things. The reflection that looks so real.
Probably, the reason why I felt this uneasiness when trying to express myself is mostly because of the lack of my ability of communicating. But I believe there are some cases that I better not force myself to change it into words but just leave it and pretend that the atmosphere will take care of it.

People see dreams to organize their memories.

From Durarara episode 7

Dreams, are so interesting. Though it is an enigmatic topic. It is full of mystery. Some people say dreams are an extension of your thoughts. Which means it represents your unconscious beliefs or wish. Others say that dream is actually a reality that happens and the reality we think is the dream. Today, I met to another interpretation about dreams: “People see dreams to organize their memories.”

This line, however, does not evoke my curiosity towards mysterious things. But it is interesting, as another point of view. Actually, what evokes my curiosity is not the word dream, but memories. I mean how does memories work or belong in your brain? When they “organize” it does it modify it into something you believe? How does organization of memories relate to dreams? I mean is, what we see when we sleep, made out from our memories? Like from our past experiences? Oh lord god, I am just so desperate to know about those things. But at the same time I don’t want to know the truth. I just feel like being ignorant to the non-imaginative reality and float in the world of imagination.

Gilgamesh.

Picture from : http://static.pyzam.com/img/funnypics/7/courage.jpg

The life of man is short. What he accomplishes is but the wind. Where is the courage that you used to have?

Gilgamesh p.16

Gilgamesh. Now that I am reading the bible that uses an old language that I do not understand at all, I am beginning to appreciate the story of Gilgamesh. Any how, I remember that this line was said by Gilgamesh towards Enkidu, when they were trying to get the head of the monster that represents death that seems to have a nice character. Or, at least better than Gilgamesh who is an egoist. I am not criticizing Gilgamesh for being an egoist, because I believe that’s how most of the humans are, including me.

Back to the quote, I like the metaphor “what he accomplishes is but the wind.” We can feel and see some evidences of the wind, but it passes by so fast, one will never grasp the same wind ever. The actions we take will surely give consequences but our memories are sometimes so vague, that time can take it away from our reminiscences. However, I believe there are some exceptions too. I believe there are some events that people will never forget about, such as the Holocaust.

As a personal opinion, I like the guts of Gilgamesh when he said, “Where is the courage that you used to have?” Even if what they were trying to do was getting the head of a monster that is protecting the beautiful forest. And even if what they were trying to do might have been useless but dangerous.

I Saw a Dream....Wait...Was It a Dream? Or Was It Reality?

"The others think this is onlly dreaming. But they live in the dream, not us."

p. 335, A Great and Terrible Beauty

Have you thought about the world you live in?
The possibility of thinking that the reality we think
it's just a dream? Well, I have, and this quote
reminded me about it.
Have you ever played with barbies? with that mini-house of barbies?
You control the barbies and pretend they were alive.
I sometimes feel that we might just be like those barbies.
Thinking we are acting on our own, but actually just some puppets
of some greedy girl.
Or maybe I am just dreaming this whole time, and that what I think is
a dream, is my reality.
There would never be an answer to this somehow ridiculous question.
But isn't it just so . I don't know any words that will suit this
sensation. It's like being in wonderland, from Alice in the wonderland.

Stupid School...Is Not a Swearing Right?

All right. This has nothing to do with my blog theme, quotes, but I just need to write this down.

Apparently, Colombia or rather CNG likes to have holidays and decided to make April 5, 2010 part of the Spring Break. Even though April 5, 2010 is a Monday and Semana Santa is until, let me think. Sunday, April 4, 2010. I had no idea about this costume and have set my clock at 5:30 a.m. in the morning, even if I came back to Bogota yesterday at 12 o’clock p.m. Technically, that is not actually yesterday, but today.
Moreover, I have decided to put some sun block on for my first time in my school year because I thought, “Oh, maybe today it might be a show time of the lovely sun!” However, it was not, and it began to rain while I was waiting for the bus that will never come.
Fortunately, an extremely nice woman, who was a mother of some CMG kid in my apartment, told me that there was no school. I am sorry for those of you who I called and send a text message asking if there was school today.
Oh well, I will go back to sleep with my contact lenses on.
